“Art isn’t about fitting into a box—it’s about breaking out of one, tapping into something raw, something real, something bigger than ourselves. It’s about impact. If a painting makes you feel something—if it sparks thought, emotion, or curiosity—then it has already done its job.
Art is my way of leaving something meaningful behind—an invitation for others to feel, reflect, and connect.”
– Mikael B.

Mikael’s abstract compositions emerge instinctively, often without preliminary sketches. Gestural brush strokes, spontaneous movements, and raw emotion dictate the process, resulting in dynamic layers of color and form. Like Gerhard Richter and Albert Oehlen, Mikael embraces the unpredictable, allowing each composition to unfold organically—balancing control and surrender in a continuous act of reinvention.

Conversely, Mikael’s geometric works are meticulously orchestrated. Every composition begins with detailed preparatory drawings and full-color digital studies, ensuring absolute control over structure and proportion. Shapes interlock with mathematical clarity, each line a deliberate choice. The execution is akin to architectural design, where every element finds its exact place.
